Darus Trutna, President
Darus Trutna has been a licensed Broker since 2010. He founded Real Property Management Humboldt in 2012 and joined forces with Professional Property Management in 2015. He is a member of the National Association of Residential Property Managers and has earned the designation “Professional Residential Manager.” Prior to Property Management, he served as a Combat Engineer Sergeant in the United States Army, completed two deployments: Operation Noble Eagle and Operation Enduring Freedom, and was awarded an Army Commendation Medal while serving overseas with the Multinational Force and Observers organization in Sinai, Egypt. After an honorable discharge from the Army, he graduated with honors from Humboldt State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and was awarded “Man of the Year” from the School of Business. Darus enjoys teaching Property Management Workshops for local Realtors, serving on the Small Business Development Center Board of Directors, and being an active supporter of entrepreneurship in our community.
Sheila Bearden, Business Development Manager
Sheila Bearden has been a real estate licensee and manager since 1989. She has worked in the management field for more than thirty-five years. She specializes in building and maintaining relationships with property owners, investors and other Realtors. She focuses on risk management and property investment potential. She is a member of the California Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. Honored as the 2003 Realtor of the Year by the Humboldt Association of Realtors for outstanding service to the real estate profession and to the community. She is a current member of the Scholarship, Budget & Finance and HR committees. Sheila has been an active member of Soroptimist International of Humboldt Bay since 1993, having served in many offices including President. She is an Associate Member of Humboldt Sponsors and a business member of the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce, and the North Coast Employers Advisory Council.
Henry Hammacher, Director of Operations
Henry Hammacher is a licensed real estate broker and has served as the Director of Operations at Real Property Management Humboldt since 2013. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is passionate about building Real Property Management and going the extra mile for all of our clients. In the little time that he is not serving clients, he enjoys focusing on health and fitness, playing basketball and softball, and spending time with his wonderful girlfriend (who wrote this) and his Doberman, Moose. He is a member of the Humboldt Association of Realtors and active member of the community, encouraging community engagement by everyone in our company.
Susan Whiteside, HR & Executive Assistant
Susan Whiteside is a licensed REALTOR at Professional Property Management and Real Property Management Humboldt. Her main goal is to assist in the day to day operations of the company. She is also actively involved in the Human Resources department and the Legal department. Susan has been in property management for over thirteen years. She has experience in all areas of management, including residential and commercial. She loves dogs, horses, hiking, camping, and photography. She grew up in New England and Southern California, but has made Humboldt County her home since 2004. When she isn’t at the office, she enjoys being at home with her family, or out on the trail.
Brittany Stuckey, Marketing Manager
Brittany Stuckey has worked in property management since 2006 and has been with RPM since 2014. She is a licensed REALTOR & has had a variety of experience in property management from maintenance to property assessment and now serves the company in strategic marketing and business development. She is an alumna of Humboldt State University, with degrees in Communication, Art Studio, Social and Behavioral Science and is certified in Graphic Communication. She is a former Research Fellow, leader of the debate team and teaching associate in the Department of Communication. She is an award-winning photographer and graphic designer for her exhibited works such as Mythos of Memory. Her research delves into rhetoric and public discourse, Mythos, visual rhetoric and new medias. She is co-author of a 2016 academic publication “Parameters of Dissemination: Validity of Concurrent Technology Platforms Sharing the Future Economy”, the 2015 publication “The World Will Little Note”, among others. She is also Marketing Coordinator for the Nonprofit, Beyond Bullies, a Eureka Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, member of The Humboldt Fellowship for Our Realization of a Greater Era, Next Generation Eureka and she used to make lame jokes on stage – now she mostly makes them in meetings.
Susanne Spencer, Controller
Susanne Spencer is the Controller serving the Real Property Management accounting team with over eleven years experience in accounting. She has dedicated that experience to serving RPM since 2012. As a lead accountant, she manages the Accounting Department. Previously she has shared her talents as an interior designer and enjoys art and history. She was born and raised in Eureka and looks forward to serving the community she loves for years to come.
Leslie Nicholson, Accounting Specialist
Leslie Nicholson was born and raised in Humboldt County on a dairy farm in Ferndale, CA that was started by her Great-Grandfather. She received a degree in Computer Applications and Office Systems from College of the Redwoods. She began working for the company in 2001 and supports the company as an Accounts Receivable representative, conducting vendor correspondence, and she processes the monthly owner statements. She is the former State Officer and majority member of Humboldt Assembly #216, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls (IORG). A community service based organization for girls between the ages of 11 and 20. It gives girls the opportunity to learn leadership and organizational skills that are need to to succeed. She is a twenty year member of Ferndale Chapter #23, Order of the Eastern Star (OES). She has served as the chapter president 3 times and as the district supervisor once in 2004. Eastern Star is also a community service organization. She enjoys gardening, sewing and reading, spending time outside and with her family.
Jason Gaspay, Accounting Specialist
Jason Gaspay joined the team as an Accounting Specialist in December 2016 having relocated to Humboldt County from the Sacramento area. He is currently enrolled at College of the Redwoods and is pursuing a bachelors degree in accounting. When Jason is not counting beans for the RPM accounting team, he can be seen pumping iron at the gym or on a brisk walk through the redwoods. He has a unique sense of humor and, being indifferent to mainstream society, he considers himself a contrarian, deliberately doing the opposite of what others do; even if it is to his own detriment.
Kevin Saephanh, Director of First Impressions
Kevin joined the Real Humboldt team in early 2018. He is an alumna of Sacramento State University, circa 2016. Kevin earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, where he focused his coursework on Social and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. During his time at Sacramento State, he was involved in numerous community service-related projects such as: Relay For Life, Make-a-Wish Foundation, and Harvest Sacramento. Kevin also hosted several workshops focused around stress management, leadership, public speaking, and community outreach. His extra-curricular activities also included serving on the Executive Board for Alpha Phi Omega: Kappa Sigma for 3 years; he held the positions of Membership, Fellowship, and Service Vice-President(s). Kevin is a transplant in Humboldt county, moving here from Sacramento in the winter of 2016. An emerging capoeirista, Kevin also enjoys wine-tasting, hiking, stargazing, reading, and playing video games in his spare time.
Kate Cincoski, Project Administrator
Kate Cincoski has ten years of customer service experience including teaching, retail, and employee training. She is a licensed REALTOR and an alumna of Minnesota State University, Mankato, degree in Fine Arts with concentration in ceramics and emphasis in drawing. She received the distinction of the Mankato Undergraduate Research Grant in 2013. Her undergraduate degree created an interest in process innovation and development in both art and business. Kate is a transplant in Eureka, moving here from Minnesota in 2015. She enjoys the variety of outdoor activities in Humboldt, from hiking the hills to exploring the 110 miles of coastline.
Michaela Roecker, Leasing Coordinator
Michaela joined the Real Humboldt team in 2018 to support us in making move-ins move smoothly! As a severe scoliosis survivor, a major focus in her life is supporting the community and helping others; she loves animals & volunteered at sequoia humane society for 2 years. She is a fashionista and attended college at Palomar College in San Marcos CA and Mt. San Jacinto College in Menifee CA for fashion merchandising, and she now combines her values of creativity and conservation by volunteering at SCRAP Humboldt. She also enjoys spending her time painting, knitting, sewing and spending time at the beach with her husband and two dogs.
Nadia Duerson, Property Supervisor
Nadia Duerson has been working in administration for twenty years. She was born in Camp Pendleton, California and grew up all over the states with military parents. She spent her 20’s and 30’s in Indianapolis, Indiana where she enjoyed being the personal assistant to the president of a small company and managed three apartment complexes prior to moving back to California and serving the Real Property Management team. She considers herself a great meld of the Midwest and the West Coast- which means she is a corn fed ‘down home’ free spirit. Her hobbies include writing, photography, listening to live music, and sitting oceanside for hours, waiting to see whales or mermaids. As of yet, she has only seen seals and surfers.
Marlene White, Property Supervisor
Marlene White has been working with Real Property Management Humboldt as a Property Supervisor since June 2017. Marlene brings with her many years of related professional experience in the fields Title Insurance, Escrow, Home Building, Land Development and Sales. Marlene obtained her California Real Estate Salesperson Licence in 2006. She moved to northern California two years ago to live near her sons and their families. Marlene enjoys spending her free time with her family & friends and exploring our beautiful coastline and forests.
Michael Burkhart, Property Supervisor
Michael was born in Berkeley and grew up with his mom, dad and little sister in Richmond, CA. To Michael, family time is the most precious, he is married to Angela, a public elementary school teacher and has two stepsons. He went to Diablo Valley College and received his Bachelor’s degree at San Deigo State. For fun, he likes to design theater sets and lights at a local church, he really enjoys that drama can be mixed with the gospel message. His favorite thing about working in real estate is being a part of finding homes for people in his community and talking with them about maintaining a solid relationship between Landlord and Tenant.
Nick Foti, Maintenance Manager
Nick was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He has a degree from Northern NAU in Business Management where he was a member of Phi Theta Capa. For many years, he worked at Home Depot and with contractors in a variety of specialties; he took with him a wide array of experience from maintenance materials to the application of his maintenance skills. He also worked in Real estate for about 5 years in Arizona and Colorado. This juxtaposition of business management, maintenance & real estate has made him into the fearless Leader of our Maintenance Team that he is today. When he isn’t working, he loves routing for all Arizona teams, from Hockey to golf.
Sasha Rodriguez, Maintenance Coordinator
Originally from Michigan, Sasha made Humboldt her home in 2016. Sasha brought with her a wealth of experience in customer service and has worked for Real Property Management in both the Leasing and Maintenance Department. Sasha also serves our Residents as an On-Site Resident Manager at one of our managed complexes. Sasha is an animal lover and loves taking her dog, Baxter, to walk along our beautiful coastline or on treks into the forest.
Jey Hancock, Property Inspector
Jey joined the Real Humboldt team in 2018 to inspect our properties and help us work towards our goal of continuously elevating property management standards. Originally from Texas, he has over 10 years of construction and maintenance experience that guides him to catch property issues others might not. For 4 years, he also enjoyed being a traveling chef- supporting small businesses from San Jose to Humboldt. He also values the experiences he had working with disabled veterans when he was volunteering in Sonoma County. When he is not supporting others, Jey likes to spend his time in nature, listening to music, or making music on his guitar.
